Night walk midwinter: More things that have gone

21st December 2010

Dear All,

In 2008 our midwinter nightwalk had the subtitle things that have gone. We return to that theme this year, with a walk on the winter solstice: more things that have gone. The continuous evolution of the streets that we pass through forces us to alter our route, to navigate through the mutated terrain, to consider what was there before and will never be again. The walk will reflect on this sense of loss, the unstoppable machine of change, and the desire to remember and memorialise. We will attempt to find the remaining gaps in the known through which to slip.

Join us on Tuesday 21st December to mark the shifting cityscape by recalling its past. Meet at 7pm on the corner of Russia Lane and Bishop's Way, E2, where the walk will begin. Nearest tube to the start is Bethnal Green, or Buses  254, 106, 55, 26, 48, D6 and D3, or Cambridge Heath overground. Here's the streetmap link to the start of the walk:

The nightwalk will take approximately one and a half hours. It is, as ever, free.  Please rsvp to info@walkwalkwalk.org.uk (not essential but to give us an indication of numbers for refreshments)

hope to see you there
